Seems there have been a lot of posts that have gone missing today. I did not realise the problem until this afternoon when members starting emailing the site!

I made an error when we transitioned to the new site. I left the old database active, some posts were going to the old database and some to the current. The old database has been disabled this evening to prevent anymore problems.

We`re all now on the new database and everything should be good to go.

Apologies if you thought we were being extra mean today and deleting posts at our pleasure!

The dns cluster service we had running for a few weeks, failed (service was intermittent) over the long weekend. The result was some threads/posts ended up being being created on the secondary node. The nature of dns means that for the majority,the secondary node is not visible unless the main server goes down. It`s complicated to explain, but for now the clustering service is taken offline to ensure this doesn`t happen again.

Just wanted to clarify this wasn`t the moderators and admins going gung-ho and removing posts at random! It`s a system failure, nothing more. Apologies for the inconvenience.
