While I was in the hardware store today I noticed a weather station 'BIOS Weather Station For PC ' it was around $120. I have never seen this type before. But it seemed to have a lot of features for the $120 range.
I have no idea of the quality of this station, but it did look interesting.

I am familier with it either. I just did a quick search , it is made by Thermor as far as I can tell.
These people don't seem to happy with it.

I looked at an earlier Thermor unit (no PC connectivity), and it seemed to be a toy IMO. Judging from those review, it appears Thermor still has some work to do. Several of the complaints seemed to concern the included software. It will be interesting to see if any 3rd party software vendors (Weather Display, Virtual Weather Station, etc) add this station in the future. That might help things quite a bit.
It sounds just like the old Thermor unit, with the addition of PC connectivity. I have a (2 yr) old Thermor, and would never bother going throught the trouble of hooking it up to a computer.
The 128-second transmission rate is a big drawback (and very frustrating for monitoring wind speed), and even if Thermor's service department is outstanding (prompt replacement of any - and all parts), I won't bore you with the details..... unless you really want to know.:banghead:
Thanks for the info guys.

I was not really sure about it, more curious than anything.
I sort of thought this may be a Thermor.

A Thermor at ≤$80 is probably a good price but anything above this as into the $120 range I think is probably a wee bit over priced.
