You guys getting tired of all the questions yet? :p
Recently I've found myself in a somewhat precarious predicament as my landlord is thinking of selling the house I'm living at. The rent everywhere else in the city (as well as Alberta) is pretty ridiculous at the moment so I'm thinking of moving elsewhere. However, I still want to head to school for Atmospheric Sciences and I'm wondering if anyone can point out some schools in Canada that offer this (other than the UofA).
I know Dave has been a pretty big advocate of the University of Manitoba.
Dalhousie University here in Halifax has an a meteorology course, however I don't think it is an undergrad program though.
I think Shawn aka nor'easter is enrolled in it. He could probably give you all the information.
In the mean time here is a link to look at.
Dal. Meteorology
Yeah, I am in my first year of the physics program here at Dalhousie and in my 4th year I can earn a diploma in meteorology along with a major in physics. The diploma in meteorlogy is a graduate degree but I am getting mine sooner as a combination with my physics major because the course material is related. You can enroll for the DMet with any BSc degree as long as your marks are good enough and have the proper background in physics and calculus. Tuition is absurd here, however, so unless you have a really good reason to come to Halifax I would consider a different university. McGill and York have atmospheric science programs as well and I've heard that McGill has a great Met program, but I'm sure the western Universities are pretty good as well.
