Ladder 49, Has anyone seen this yet? I watched it last night and really, really liked it. It is a pretty sad movie though. Very touching. My buddy is a firefighter and he says his Captain has seen this movie 5 times at the theatre because he found it so realistic.
I am hoping to see it this afternoon.Sunday is usually the day we rent a DVD or two.
Well Marie,I guess I will have to wait,my son couldn't get a copy of Ladder49 for today,they were all out(rented),got a couple other's to watch in a few minutes though [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
Never heard of it [!--emo&:)--]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--] What`s it all about, and don`t tell me firefighters!
It's about firemen alright Bob, I haven't seen it and when I do I'm not watching it with the wife I'll have to hold the box of kleenex. And I rather be holding the bag of popcorn. LOL

Indeed Sid you would have to watch it with a box of kleenex lol. I didn't cry but I was oh so close [!--emo&:cray:--]/cray.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'cray.gif\' /][!--endemo--] . It's pretty sad. But definently one to watch.
Bob the story starts with firefighters going to a fire. One is on the 12th floor trying to save someone when the floor caves in from under him and he falls a few stories and he's lying there injured and you have the flashbacks of how he became a firefighter and all.
Here's the description on IMDB
[!--QuoteBegin--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--QuoteEBegin--]Under the watchful eye of his mentor Chief Mike Kennedy (Travolta), probationary firefighter Jack Morrison (Phoenix) matures into a seasoned veteran at a Baltimore fire station. Jack has reached a crossroads, however, as the sacrifices he's made have put him in harm's way innumerable times and significantly impacted his relationship with his wife and kids. Responding to the worst blaze in his career, he becomes trapped inside a 20-story building. And as he reflects on his life, Chief Kennedy frantically coordinates the effort to save him.

Geezzz.......I tend to have flashbacks after a beer, usually about my wife telling me to take the garbage out. LOL

Thought maybe we could have a thread for upcoming movies and maybe a review after. Saves having dozens of threads about various movies?
First off, one of my old favourites is hitting the bigscreen. The Dukes of Hazzard. Initially I was quite pleased, until I find the original cast are not involved. In fact, after seeing who is in it `Burt Reynolds, Willie Nelson, Jessica Simpson` I was immediately put off. I can`t stand Burt Reynolds and he aint no Boss Hogg [!--emo&:(--]/upset.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'upset.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
Personally I think it will be garbage, and the family fun and innocence that made the original series will be blown away [!--emo&:(--]/upset.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'upset.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke [!--emo&:O--]/shok.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'shok.gif\' /][!--endemo--] .....I agree Bob ...the world is not and hopefully will never be ready for that....but she really has the bubble head down pat [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
