As this topic was lost unfortunately, so was everyones introduction of themselves.

If you all dont mind re-posting that would be great, to get our little community going again [!--emo&:)--][!--endemo--]

So as you know Im Dan, Im 24 and I live in Caboolture, Queensland, Australia. Im originally from Banff, Alberta, but my father was offered a good job, and wanted a change of pace, so he decided to move us here when I was 15. I now sound as Aussie as the next guy, although sometimes an accent shows its face [!--emo&:)--][!--endemo--]

Ive loved the weather ever since I was little, even in elementary school I would rush home in time for the weather, and keep charts of the temperatures. Im now a chef, which I love, so my better half is happy to put up with my weather addiction, so long as I keep cooking for her [!--emo&:D--][!--endemo--]

Look forward to hearing from you all (again) soon.
Suzi Q here. Newbie. Originally from Warnambool Australia, living in Houston now. Full time student, sophmore, at Houston Community College, transferring to Texas A & M in Spring of 2005, majoring in Meteorology. First became interested in weather in 1983 after living through Hurricane Alicia. Figure this site would be great for broadening my horizons from the usual CONUS aspects. Oh, and I'm really old to be pursuing a college degree-I'm 43. Hey Guys, My name is Gary I'm 17years old and Im from a place called Chester in England (some might have heard of it as its a Roman city) My main interest is meteorology, its just one of those things which I find interesting and exciting! Other than the weather I play the [span style=\'color:blue\']Guitar[/span] but unfortunately no band just yet [!--emo&:P--][!--endemo--] I am actually studying for my A levels right now, I'm not sure what everyone else from around the world has but they are a type of exam just above Secondary school level. In the summer I go surfing with my family quite a lot [!--emo&:D--][!--endemo--]
Hi, I'm Justine and I'm from Essex south eastern UK. I don't know a great deal about the weather but I've been studying it online and reading books for a few years now. I love severe weather and one of my ambitions is to go storm chasing in the US. I do a lot of virtual chasing and one day I hope to do it for real. The more I learn about how weather works the more it fascinates me. I have a few weather instruments at home and keep records although they don't go back too far and I like to get out and about and take photo's too. I have folders and folders full of clouds on my pc [!--emo&--][!--endemo--]
Hi,

My name`s Sandy. I am originally from Nova Scotia, but moved south of the border around eight years ago when my folks decided this was a wise decision!

I have an unhealthy obsession with the weather. Whenever anything remotely exciting is forecast I am literally hopping up and down in anticipation.

I am now living with my fella who is from Bangor itself, he has limited interest in the weather, spending more time enjoying watching wrestling [!--emo&--][!--endemo--] Oh, I`m 29.

This is the first and only weather forum I have been on, and I was more than pleased when I read that it will continue, despite the loss of data.

Ps. If you`re wondering why I`m snowman and not snow-woman, well it just doesn`t sound right!
Hi, Nighthawk here. I'm 39 and from a very small town in Wabash County Indiana. I am a member of our county's Emergency Management Agency and a NOAA Skywarn member. I am a network administrator and help with the design and upkeep of our [a href=\'http://www.wabash-county-indiana.org\' target=\'_blank\']EMA Web Site[/a].

I like taking pictures of the weather, especially lightning [!--emo&B)--][!--endemo--] . The link in my signature goes to some of my pictures.
Hi guys,

I`m Mike, I live in Timmins, Ontario. I happened to find this site by chance, while looking through google for some Canadian forums.

First time I`ve ever been on a weather forum, but I do have an interest in the weather, and the great outdoors.

I don`t know much about the technical aspects of meteorology, but I will certainly bring you upto date on conditions on this part of Canada.
Hey, welcome Mike. Nice to have someone from Timmins [!--emo&:)--][!--endemo--] and a big and rather delated welcome to the rest of you.

Thanks for joining us, hopefully you`ll enjoy the board as much as I do [!--emo&;)--][!--endemo--]
Thanks Bob.

I was actually lurking around while the old board was up but I never really got the courage to join up.

I guess this time I got lucky. [!--emo&:)--][!--endemo--]
Bit late, but as the saying goes; better late than never...

I am currently living in Lancashire in Northwest England, where I have done for the whole of my life, all 23 years of them. After graduating last summer with a degree in Environmental Science I was hopefull of finding some meteorology work here in the UK. Unfortunately this isn't the case in what is becoming an extremely difficult occupation to get into, especially in this country as money plays a big part. As a result (and as I knew was a possibility) I decided to look further afield. As a result I have a place at York University in Toronto in Canada and got my student/work visa last weekend, amazingly it only took 5 days to arrive!. So if all goes to plan North Toronto, will become my new home for at least 3 years from the middle of August onwards. Seeing I have already experienced the Canadian way of life and of course the weather im sure once settled in it will be a great experience.

On a social note, I love to keep fit, big Man United fan (used to be season ticket holder), big clubber can't beat a good night out with plenty of trance/dance music. Certainly hoping that Toronto will deliver on this front aswell.

All the best from the UK.

Matt.
