Yesterday , Chris Fogarty was here visiting , we were looking through some old weather journals that my mother-in-law gave me, we noticed that on September 7 1983 that a high temp of 92° F was noted and temps stayed in the high to mid seventy's for a week. These days everyone would be calling it Global warming,......so what did they call it in 1983 , ...just warm weather.
Also ,.....Sept 21 , 1983 ,...high temp 86° F.
It is interesting looking back at these old records ,....seeing what the weather was like 25 -30 years ago.
I remember Sept 1983 well - I happened to be taking a course in Halifax at the time. It was very warm indeed.

Looking back at weather history can be quite revealing.... In this area, some of the warmest summers and mildest winters on record were recorded in the 1930's - long before anyone ever thought of the term "Global Warming". 1937 in particular featured an incredibly mild winter and and much warmer than average summer - imagine what people would be saying if we had a year like that now.
