I'm located in the Chatham-Kent area and we had a supercell go through yesterday dumping some hail sized from a toonie to a golfball in my area. The opposite side of the city reported it getting close to baseballs.

WOW.. was there much damage?? I have never seen hail that big (in real life)

Yeah, a lot of cars were dented and some windows smashed along with some damage on roofs and siding on people's houses. It came down like rain for a few minutes.
That is impressive size hail. I wonder if hail that size could kill small birds or even larger ones caught in the open during a storm.
That is amazingIcon_exclaim

Yes.

And baseball-sized hail can, theoretically, kill a person. Its terminal velocity is something like 150 km/h, so picture a pitcher throwing a 90 MPH fastball and plinking you on the head.

Ouch.

I hope I'm not the only one who pictured that and thought it would be a cool video to see on Maximum Exposure or something :p
