Tornado warning for
Yellowhead county near MacKay Wildwood and Evansburg issued
At 5:50 PM a tornado was reported touching down briefly 25 km west of Wabamun near seba beach. The storm which produced the tornado is moving west at 30 km/h and may affect the town of Evansburg.
Radar indicates thunderstorms are intensifying in the Westlock and Whitecourt regions. The main threats with these storms are local heavy downpours and large hail.
Thunderstorms are currently moving into the Leduc region and are moving northwestwards at 30 km/h. At 2:55 PM funnel clouds were reported with these thunderstorms. It is possible these funnel clouds could touchdown and produce weak tornadoes.
Anyone get any pics of some funnel clouds? Again, this is more "Cold Core" type funnels, but, still exciting :)
