A strong upper-level trough will move through the maritimes on Friday with an associated cold front. There will be very strong cold air advection behind this front and temperatures could drop throughout the day Friday in NB to around 10 degrees by sunset if the models are right. This unseasonably cold airmass will continues to move across the maritimes on Saturday with cloudy skies and cold temperatures. Some places could struggle to get to much above 10 degrees on Saturday. More on this later.
Looking at the Weather Newtork for Fredericton, they are saying a low of 3 on Saturday night! Brr!

Yeah, some low-lying areas could see some light frost Saturday or Sunday morning as radiational cooling should be close to ideal for most of NB those nights.

I have attached an image of 925mb temps (around 3000 feet up) from the MM5 for 9pm ADT Friday. It shows some very cold temps across eastern NB.

Looks like the front has already began to sink further south than expected. Right now there are some CBs and TCUs approaching from the northwest. I have a feeling the front will move through here around mid-day tomorrow. Models have been trending further and further south with the front which would mean the coldest air could be on Friday.
Thankfully the models have now backed off on the ridiculous cold for Saturday, but it may still struggle to get above 15 in eastern areas.
It is 14 right now at CYQM with low clouds and drizzle, that is 11 degrees below normal for this time of year! Where is summer?
Yeah lousy isn`t it? The whole weekend right through until Canada day doesn`t exactly look inspiring. Weather like this suits me fine at work, but when I`m off I want summer weather. I don`t recall a late June day like this for a long time, especially this low statiform murk.
CYQM is reporting 17C at 1600, but I`m only 16C here in Dieppe. Yup, fantastic weather for the last few days of June! Wouldn`t mind so much, but the grey skies are the real bummer here!
A miserable day here in Halifax. Temperature is sitting at around 12C with fog, drizzle and gusty SE winds. Not a great weekend to be camping in a tent.
Not much of a day here, either. Currently 15° with drizzle; 27 mm of rain this morning.

That certainly wouldn't be my idea of fun. Icon_cheesygrin
