As some of you know I love photography so I finally took the plunge and got myself a DSLR. Its a Canon EOS 450D which wasn't cheap but certainly worth it. I like to shoot in RAW format and do any processing after. Still learning about the camera so my pictures aren't perfect. Anyways here are some samples I took of random flowers around the yard.

You always seem to take nice flowery shots in your "garden". Those are lovely photos.

How about a pic of your yard with all the flowers and shrubs? :)

Did you buy the camera new or used (ie off ebay)?
Very nice Andrew , crisp and clear Icon_smile Looks like you have a great camera there to work with.
Awesome Pics!!!

Thanks. These pics were obviously compressed so I could post them here but the uncompressed versions are quite stunning...the resolution is incredible. The only problem is each raw image is like 15-20 mb so I have to get a massive sd card for storage. Right now I'm only using a 128mb card and I can only hold like 5 to 6 images, so its a pain unloading constantly.

I love to take close ups of flowers Icon_smile, besides my flower gardens don't look quite as nice zoomed out (they need to be weeded).

I bought the camera brand new, it was on sale at Best Buy.

Nice shots Andrew, and a very nice camera. Compact digi-cams are convenient to carry around, throw in the glove compartment etc., but DSLR's open up another world. I bought a Nikon D70s last year, and I've been happy with it. If I was starting to build a system, I would rather have Canon - it seems Canon DSLR image quality is as good as it gets, but since I had flash, lenses etc. left over from my 35 mm film days, I stuck with Nikon.
Very nice captures Andrew. You certainly made a good choice in a camera purchase. You should have much fun taking photos and experimenting with it.
