There is some major cold situated over Saskatchewan, eastern Alberta and western Manitoba. Temperature in Key Lake, SK is currently -39C (see attached image). Regina is sitting at -32C and never climbed above -23C all day, well below the -7C average daytime for the time of year.

Ps. Key Lake, SK now sitting at -41C

Certainly chilly across the Prairie Provinces this morning, with widespread -30's and a few -40's showing. Key Lake seems to have bottomed out at -42.4; they're a "balmy" -39 at 0400.

Only a high of -28C in Regina today, that's just brutally cold!

Seems like December is certainly making up for having such a warm November.

Unusual seeing Lethbridge with an extreme low of -39.5C this morning!

Watch Key Lake this weekend. I think they have a shot at -50 overnight Friday and Saturday nights.

That would hurt :( it was bad enough ( for me ) yesterday when the windchill was -15°c , of course it was the first real cold day of this winter yesterday.

It would appear this morning's temperature will be the coldest ever recorded at CYEG in December. LOL, global warming is certainly running amok in the prairies these days.
