Winter storm warning for
Cypress Hills Provincial Park - Foremost continued

Strong winds and snow and blowing snow tonight.

This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions...Listen for updated statements.

Strong winds continue to blow up to 100 km/h behind a low pressure system moving through Southern Saskatchewan. The winds are producing local low visibilities in blowing snow. Winds have diminished in Lethbridge and Red Deer and are expected to diminish across the rest of Southern Alberta this evening. In the Medicine Hat and Cypress Hills regions heavy snow will give amounts of 10 to 15 cm tonight with higher amounts near 20 cm in the Cypress Hills. As well the winds are giving near zero visibilities in blowing snow in exposed areas. Heavy snowfall will taper off overnight.

In Southwestern Alberta, snow has already developed in the Crowsnest Pass region. Snowfall amounts of 10 cm are forecast near the international border. Light snow will continue on Wednesday with amounts near 2 to 4 cm.
