This has to be one of the driest months ever for the west coast (well, I guess it can't get much drier). Here in Chilliwack we've received just 0.8 mm of rain but that could be spoiled on the last day of the month because there is a chance of showers/t-showers tomorrow. The grass in some spots is turning really brown/yellow.

Vancouver has had 0.6 mm of rain and Abbotsford has been the wettest at 1.2 mm!

Yeah, it will be Abbotsford's 3rd driest July on record as long as there's no rain today.

June was quite dry as well, with almost all of the rain in the first two weeks. In fact, for the period from June 12th to now, Abbotsford has only 5.8 mm.

I don't see any obvious relief to this drought either. The first two weeks of August look dry.

Just 5.8 mm? Wow. I've had 27.6 mm since June 12 including a 16 mm soaking on the 27th.

Yeah, it really has been super dry here. We had only a couple mm on the 27th. Did you have a thunderstorm or something?

Speaking of thunderstorms, we just had one. It dropped 4.8 mm of rain, which while not a great amount is certainly refreshing after weeks of no rain. Looks like there may be more storms later on.

No thunderstorm, just some heavy showers. Actually we haven't had a t-storm since the end of March (that I'm aware of anyway) until today there has actually been quite a bit of rumbling. I was told by a co-worker that there was also some thunder this morning, but still dry.
